smelly additives

hi all
whats the smelliest bait additive you can buy? either fishy or cheesy or a combination of both with some sweaty socks thrown in for good measure.

i have read about one on here before but for the life of me i cant find it, i,ve been experimenting making my own boilies and paste and plan on using it in them
cheers

Monster crab, n-butyric acid are the anti social ones. Hutchies Secret Agent for a curry type flavour is persistent and lasting.
All work but don't overdo the level.
Cheers
Bob

Hutchinson Seafood Blend was one that made me physically gag when knocking up bait in the past....that in conjunction with green lip mussel on a decent fishmeal base caught plenty of Carp back in the day but stank to high heaven !!!!

Rod Hutchys Monster Crab takes some beating on this score.
However, Fermented Shrimp Paste/Belachan possesses a very high honk factor too:eek:
You can buy the blocks of it really cheap from chinese supermarkets.

Cheers
Mark

I can vouch for the belachan too, damn near impossible to get the smell off your hands if you use it as a paste wrap as i do!

I have used all of the above, and they are indeed pretty rank, with the 'N-butyric' being the smelly feet one. Also, If you wanted to spice it up a little, then Indian spice oil is fairly obnoxious :D

However...If it is a divorce you are after, try 'garlic essential oil'. It is obviously not fishy or cheesy, and bears no relationship to smelly feet, and you will not be allowed to open it in a retail shop to try it (they would ban you from the shop :p)...but for sheer gob-smacking, disgusting strength of pong, and overpowering vomit enducing stench, it has no equal...GUARANTEED!

Cheers, Dave.

The 3 nutrabaits ones which are sold in a bottle inside a plastic tub because they are so smelly are N-Butyric Acid (as mentioned), Garlic Oil (as mentioned) and Mexican Onion oil, this absolutely stinks, worse than the garlic one in my opinion...........I have all three and they are all inside another plastic container, inside a coolbox in my garage, they are so bad......

The last time I used the N-Butyric and Mexicn Onion to make a bait, it took three weeks to get the smell out of the house, it gets into everything!!!

hi all
thanks for all your help it was n-butyric acid i was looking for, i remember reading a thread about it and liked of how bad the smell was lol
i,m pretty good at making most of my own flavourings whether it be fish oil, garlic oil, curry etc for this one i dont think i have the ingredients at work, once again thanks for all your help, all i have to do know is sneak it in the house, without the wife finding it:D
cheers
jerry

Ha ha ... You won't sneak Nbutyric into the house without the missus noticing . Nash's Shellfish sense appeal is a smelly one too .

It's not that bad...I made some paste up with it in the other day, and when the wife came home a couple of hours later, she hardly noticed....try THAT with the garlic essential oil. I GUARANTEE she would smell it before she opened the front door...it really is that bad :D

Incidentally, N-butyric is a product of rancid butter...but don't try it on bread (although that works for chub, lol.)

Cheers, Dave

We used to use N-butyric plus isovaleric acid to test the sweat resistance of paint that was applied to Land Rover steering wheels. So.. maybe someone could get ahead of the field and try some isovaleric!?

Not sure if this was said tongue in cheek or not but before any barmpot goes out and finds some and tries it...IT'S TOXIC and can cause skin burns...Lets stick to safe compounds lads, we've enough problems with Cormoronts, Otters and general pollution without helping.:(

I can vouch for the "pong" of Garlic Oil....many moons ago on Thursday nights when my wife was out playing netball my two mates and I used to have a bait making evening in my kitchen....we used ONE drop of Garlic Oil to six eggs but when the Missus came home she could smell it at the front of the house when she got out of the car with only the back door being open....Incidently it was the best fish [Carp] catcher that I ever used back in the 80's on what is now Nutrabaits Hi-Nu-Val base mix at that ratio.

here's a new one
cotwolds 'THE ONE'
IT'S THE WORST THING I'VE SMELT SINCE I DESCOVERED A DEAD DOG!!!!!
i opened a packet of boilies in the kitchen 3 hours ago ,and the smell is still there.
