Sinking Braided Mainline?

John Cook

Good Morning All,

As the title says is anyone out there using a SINKING braided mainline?? As i am now fishing 2 rods more and more i am looking for a good sinking braid to avoid the risk of a fish tangling the 2 lines, not happy using a floating braid with backleads, even though the sinking braids have a thicker diameter...Your thoughts Barbelers??? No not fluoro or mono:rolleyes:

John, I have grappled with the same thought but worried that you could ever really get the presentation you want as I am not sure there is braid on the market heavy enough to be effective in all but the slowest flows, or where you are fishing close in to the bank. I concluded (wrongly perhaps) that you if you can get a sensible/heavy/safe leader material of 3ft or so with a good hooklength pinned to the bottom then that should be sufficient to create a safe zone. I can never seem to get backleads to work either!

Hi Paul,

Can i ask your thoughts on Howards point regarding presentation?

Thanks for your input lads its not an easy one is it?? The old bullet was a heavy braid i see there is a new Bullet available now, anyone used it?
