What diameter shrink tube do i need for hooks between size 8 and 2?

also do you have to use steam/boiling water to shrink it or can i just hold it over a lighter flame ?

Sam I shrink mine over a boiling kettle dont use a flame mate

i got one of the cheap tackle boxes of dragon carp and they have two rig boards in them

For cheap heat shrink Sam try Maplins, they do different colours as well. if you try to shrink it with a lighter you will damage the line. I find the best way is to hold the hook in a pair of forceps over the kettle spout, you can also bend the heat shrink round to give you the bent hook effect without the inherent danger which is associated with that rig.

ta for the advice Ade, already ordered some off ebay, 4 metres in different colours for £2.30. i normally use drennan boilie hooks for all my larger hooks but do i need a particular pattern for hair rigs using shrink tube ? curved / offset / short or long shank ect
