Hi guys looking for other barbel and chub options. Sadly don't do many trips per year but thought I'd ask if it was worth a trip. Always keen to hear about new water. Particularly the Sydney beat. Like the ideas of the weir pool etc thanks Jon

Bit insensitive to plan a fishing trip ? Of course not, we have to think ahead to the better times....check out the Ginger Fisherman catching Pike on lures on flooded canal tow path...no one died.

downstream of the Armoury pub/ Welsh bridge is Quarry Park, this stretch does the odd very big fish, with back up barbel being 8's or 9's....I have heard on the grape vine a couple of big 12's came off with a few doubles last year, though its essentially a match dace and roach stretch, there are big barbel there.....up stream of the bridge at the side of the theatre also does the odd lump also
