david, you cannot assume every big company especially the size of shimano
tries to make a large profit from after sales care because not all do.

You could well be right John. I do admit that I have grown more and more cynical with age, and that is not always fair :eek: If Shimano do offer great service at a reasonable cost, then good on them.

My comments were based on the number of people I have heard complain (not only on this forum) that they have sent a reel away for service/repair, only to have it returned virtually as it had been sent, but with a bill for services rendered :eek:

However, they may be the exception, rather than the norm....Friday afternoon jobbies perhaps :D:D
