I have one of these reels i bought over 25 yrs ago and it has been a super tool. Its just packed up now the spool doesn't occilate but the drag works.I rang the service guys at Felindre and they said send it to them and they might be able to fix but they didnt have any spares in stock.

Do you know of any where else where I could get it fixed. I dont want to retire it as its a good reel. or has anyone got an old one for sale?? tite Lines Dan :)

They pop up on ebay quite regularly. Great little reel super for barbel fishing.

The only problem I could ever find with them was the slight flex you get on the reel stem. Other than that there's not many fixed spooled reels that make beautifully loud ticking noise when a fish is taking line off the clutch.

I've got 2 of the 3500B's with all the paperwork, I'll scan the exploded diagram and parts list for you if that's any help?

Alan. I wanna get the old one sorted so I really need cogs or gears for the inside. Are the newer versions compatible?? Does anyone know????

The Triton is a superb reel. I doubt you'll get bits for it. They were pretty well bomb proof, so you are a tad unlucky with yours. I have a couple of old Shimanos with various issues. I have long thought that there must be engineering workshops who could knock bits up for the older reels. Sure, the bits would be at a premium, but we'd pay over the odds to get an old favourite restored. I suspect that if bits from the 3500B were compatible, Felindre would have recognised this.

£100 quid for 2 your having a laugh worth £35 to £40 each at the most!
Two years ago I bought 3 minters for £45 the lot maybe we should catapult this to the ebay madness thread!

E.Bay madness

Got to agree Clive, I was not saying that they were a good price, just that they were there..
I bought my 3500B from a seller on this forum, as new, for a very good price, a couple of years ago, I am very pleased with it it has served me well, with no probs.

Clive if those EBay Tritons are in good nick, then £40 ain't a bad price. What sort of reel you can get for that money? When the Tritons were new, back in the 80s they were about £100 each. If you paid £45 for three mint Tritons, then you did very, very well - were those on EBay?

Here are the 2 x going for £110 delivered! I would still not pay more than £85 delivered

if its something ya really really really want........money becomes unimportant :)

thats if ya have plenty.......:(

The prob is that I dont actually know whats wrong for certain, just that it doesn't ocilate when reeling in and makes a clicking noise. The drag still works. Looks like i got to have a look inside to see if I can see anything broken etc., iv'e seen the 2 on £100 on ebay and also there is a 3500 GT but i dont know if its the same, but it looks exactly the same blown up.Thanks to everyone for their advice etc., tite lines

The Triton and the 3500 GT are not the same. The 3500GT is also an excellent reel, but rear drag. You might as well have a look inside, you haven't a lot to loose. Sometimes you do see reels for spares on EBay.
