Shimano Technium Specialist float rod

Hi all,

I'm looking to try a moving bait on the river Dove and I have the above mentioned rod in the garage (must have had it 15- 20yrs) I have caught many chub on it in the past but only remember catching one barbel on it that was not all that big. Now the barbel are much bigger and im wondering if anyone has any experience with this rod and if its up to taming a large barbel, if i can hook one that is......... ;););)

Thanks,

Ade.

I had one for years not used it for barbel but for carp to just over 15 lb many years ago

Thanks for the reply Dean, I guess I will just have to try it and see how it goes but if it can handle a 15lb carp it has got a chance ;);)

Ade.

Adrian, I've had the 12' version (with unused quiver section) for about 15 years; it is still my weapon of choice when wading out and running a stick down. Coupled with a lightweight pin it can be held all day no bother and has tamed numerous near double-figure fish. They don't seem to pull back quite so hard when on the float/pin.
