Shimano Service Filendre

Great service for spare parts with superfast delivery when they have them in stock which isn't all the time.

I've had three reels serviced and have been underwhelmed to say the least. An internal problem on a longcast was fixed but when the reel arrived back the centre of the spool was bent so it sits at an angle to the shaft 'not their fault they said'- new spool cost £35. A 5000GTE serviced was still stiff compared to all the others I have used and a rebuild of a 6000 RE left it feeling rough.

Worth trying elsewhere if you need something mechanical.

Good info. Paul as the same thing happens on one of my LC's.

Dave

Dave take the thumb screw off the reel and look inside it, on both of mine there was four little metal tabs with a groove down the centre, these should have been a full washer. Looks like I've over tightened them and they've split. Now when I tighten them up, the first turn of the handle doesn't turn the screw which then means its loosened off. Nice reels but I prefer how the handles on my 6000d's tighten up, just turn them forward.
