Not to sound rude but don't want to make this a what reel is best thing BUT birthday in a few weeks :D and looking to change my reels and been having a look at these Shimano 6000d baitrunner wondering if any one used them for a bit whats your thoughts ? Going to sticking them on some 12 foot torrix rods like so like to get them nice and balance and to use on the Severn . Cheers in advance .

I've been considering a pair for my 2 & 3/4lb Harrison Ballista carp rods Dean. I have a 4000d for small river fishing and they are a great reel for barbel fishing I think. I reckon you wont go far wrong with a pair of 6000's for using on the severn, particularly as size wise they aren't that different from the 5000 series baitrunners of old.

Try to get the ones with the flat handles or you will end up with a massive knob!

hi mate i bought 2 6000d they balance and feel right on my torrix not used them on the river yet, going out 2moz. let u know more 2moz.

6000d reels

I bought two 6000deu from climax tackle for £99 each, these are the ones with the flat handle. got to say they are a top bit of kit,I just need to upgrade my rods now:D
