Shimano 6000 OC reels

Can anyone tell me if the 4000d / 4000oc is up to the job of cranking in 4oz + leads / feeders

Adam, I have 4000oc's and they have loads of cranking power. Never had the need to go to 4oz, but I have used 3oz feeders with no problems.

In my opinion you need 6000 size Shimanos for cranking in 4oz plus feeders on the Trent. Found that out years ago when match fishing regularly. Smaller reels just don't last.

Agreed Ian. I've got X-aeros in 4000 and 6000. I use the 4000 for the tame carp match puddle thing in summer. The same reels certainly wouldn't cope for a raging Lower Sev with 12ft on it. The 6000 far more capable.
