Shelf life boilies

At least a couple of seasons, by my reckoning, Adam. I rarely buy enough to test that theory, however.
Yes, they can be frozen - but why would you want to?

Hi Richard,
I didn't realise they lasted so long 🤔 I was thinking of freezing them to make them last longer .
Keep 'em cool, keep 'em double bagged in an airtight containers, away from all vermin and preferably away from direct sunlight, and they should last for many years. At the end of the day they're just a bunch of chemicals (with added preservatives).
BTW... if ever I've got, say, 5kg of a certain bait, once I open it I separate it into 1kg portions in double sealed bags. Then, when you're accessing that particular bait, you're not opening all of it to the air ... but just a portion of it.

One of my most useful fishing related purchases many many years ago ( Im on my second one now) is a Vacuum packer !

and its fantastic for when you want to say split a large 5 or 10kg bag of boilies and store them for a long time not to mention taking a nice bag of curry or stew to warm up in a pan of water on a cold day on the bank

I’ll be buying a vacuum packer for my frozen dead baits this season. Beats cling filming them individually

Get a dry wet one worth the extra.
Vacuum Sealer 3 in 1 Automatic Food Sealer, One Touch Vacuum Sealing System, Dry/Wet Vacuum Packing Machine with Cutter and Vacuum Roll, Aicok. Around £35.

Potassium Sorbate is widely used as a preservative - even in hand rolling tobacco.

Cheers
Bob

They're brilliant Rich, this is the one I use for Elips pellets and (lightly glugged) boilies .....

I would like to suggest that for the small outlay of a vacuum packer, you'll save a fortune on unnecessarily throwing in bait!

This looks like a good idea when splitting large tubs of hemp etc….I’m guessing that with glugged boilies and pellets it will probably help draw the flavour into the bait! Maybe good option for deadbaits too🤔

Yeah the dead baits is exactly the reason I want one.
I make 1 egg boilie mixes and don’t often come home with any so not something I’d use for my barbel baits.
