I've recently sold a few 12' rods and used UPS to deliver them, cost £35.60 including insurance for each delivery. No problems apart from not knowing when they would be collected, all UPS say is that it will be between 09.00-18.00.

The problem is tubes over 1.5 metres in length, under 1.5m parcel force for£11.34...Try transglobal express, somebody on here mentioned using them, not used them yet myself but getting a quote
was cheaper than anybody else, that was with DHL booking through transglobal..although last time i looked was about 6 months ago
but looking costs nowt...

Just to offer another choice..I used PARCELS PLEASE recently. They came out cheapest on the day and it was actually DHL who collected and delivered. Also very helpful on the phone.
