spotted yesterday on a middle Ouse backstream above St Ives, Cambs....

As if it wasn't bad enough to arrive on the river to find the EA performing an electro fishing survey on our chosen first day venue, we walked downstream and found this character sunning itself on the bank...we have to put up with Cormorants and those lovely fluffy Otters, but a bl**** Seal!!!
these small backstreams cannot support this magnitude of predation...

Needless to say I had my first biteless day ever on this stretch of river...
