Rucksacks which ones ?

I've been using drennan specialist 30l and 40l for last few years now with no problems with zips.
On top of that I use them 2 straps to attach chair every single time I am out fishing.

I use a drennan specialist and have no trouble with the zips. I do rub a candle on the zips a couple of times each season. Wondered if Richard's graphite powder may also work to keep them running smooth.

I have a Avid Ruckbag, like the lay flat approach. Have a couple of Drennan ruck sacks 30l 40l no issue with zips , use them for fishing for various species. Also got an Angling intellligence stalking ruck bag I use for pike .

When i wanted a new one recently and looked at a number of well known fishing brands but was not particularly impressed. Went in the end for Mil-Tec one. They used to advertise on here i think and I think I bought the small assault pack which suited what I wanted for roaming. Plenty of loops to put bank sticks and plenty of pouches for gear. Much better made than any of the angling brands. https://www.military1st.co.uk/14023002-mil-tec-bw-combat-backpack-black.html
Lots of sizes.

the worst is when you have a sort out and rearrange stuff it then takes half the season to remember where everything is
i need another rucksack i like to keep my big river and small river stuff separate
It’s all wonderful in the garage as your carefully organising individual items into a complicated bags pocket system. You get everything just perfect with its own little home then the whole lot goes to s##t as soon as your arse sits on the chair by the river and you can’t remember with one of the 38 pockets you put your 2oz leads in.
I really do wish I could use a system like that because my own meticulous way would love to have an organised system with every item in a separate home but my memory sadly doesn’t allow so one big space it’s gotta be.

Sounds like I might have just been unlucky with the zips on my Drennans. Those NGT pouches (think there’s one in @Richard Isaacs ’s pike bag) are good bits of kit for keeping stuff organised in bags/rucksacks. Two of them fit perfectly in the front pocket of the 40l Drennan.

just bought one of these ngt boxes same as the korda tackle safe but a third of the price.... it’s coming via royal mail so i’ll let you know the quality of it in about 6 weeks

I've had mine 2 years and it is absolutely fine and worth the money. It lives in my barbel bag and seems to swallow all the bits I need plus the what ifs and odd purchases that look handy but don't get used that much!

NGT tackle pouches absolutely rock!! Best 7 quid I ever spent.

The zip on my Drennan quiver snapped the other week. Luckily it’s just the handle part and easily sorted with a key ring for now.

I know lots of people like the Korum luggage, however I have been unimpressed.

My ruckbag ripped down the seam, by the fixing point for the strap. I had only used it a couple of times, plus there was a issue with one of the zips.

And lets just say Korums customer service leaves lots to be desired, so I am currently using an old Nash holdall which does the job.

I bought a Korum ruckbag XL about 13 years ago but swapped for the smaller standard version a year later. Still use it, and the zips are still in good working order.

I've been using the Fox Royale 40l rucksack for the last 5 years or so, its a great little rucksack, can fit what I need into easily enough and it seems indestructible which is more than I can say for others I have had. Would recommend.

Iv been using the drennan 40l for a number of years with no issues to report and it holds everything I take tackle wise, food, bait and camera with plenty of room and comfy to wear whilst walking.

The molle 'army' ones on ebay are great and cheap, when the mice get through them you just get another. I do also have a big Cotswold one for the winter when you need to carry a flask and an extra layer and a 6 pack of double deckers.

Also worth mentioning, i tend to cut off zip tags and replace them for a split ring (keyring) jobbie, much easier to pull when cold and also dab a bit of reel oil on the zips every year or so when i remember, no dramas that way.
