Hi, I'm after a new rucksack my korum one has fallen apart, has anybody tried the new Gardner roving bag bit looks a good bit of kit to me

Cheers carl

I used to have the Nash day rucksack but found it a little too small, bought the Gardner barbell /specialist one the middle of last season and found it ideal ,carries all I need and still ideal for roving.

I ended up with a Nash Nomad 55 rucksack.

I found I need plenty of additional clothing, quite often even in the summer when the temperatures drop at night. The extra space in the top I use stash the clothes until needed.

It's certainly very well made and is still excellent after a couple of years regular use. The drawbacks I find are it doesn't stand upright once you start unloading it. Secondly, the Nash Handy tackle and lead pouches are very good but a little fiddly getting in and out of the bottom side pockets because of the pockets above.

For short/rover sessions I have one of those small Chub copies from Aldi.

Something like the Gardner would be great for those sessions requiring something in between!

The Korum rucksacks are good and a reasonable price, if money was no object a Karrimor Predator 75 litre with a range of pockets and pouches.

I recently purchased the Korum ITM daysack. Seems to fit in nicely with short evening sessions. Plently of room for a dslr, flask and bits and at a good price.
Lets see how it fairs after a full season of abuse. :)

I have one a nice piece of kit that carries all the barbel kit you could require. Also have the 5 rod quiver and bait/ bits bag. Good gear and good value.

I have one Lewis, and I couldn't be happier with it. Does what it says on the tin! And you can get a surprising amount of kit in it.

Had a quick look at one today in the shop! The bag its self i really liked, but i didnt find it that comfortable on the shoulder straps, need to find somewhere local which does the fox and the gardner bag so i can do a compare!!

I'd recommend a British Army Patrol Pack Daysack, nice size for barbel fishing, very robust, durable, well balanced and very comfortable.
