Rod sling advice please

Senior Member
I am looking for a padded rod sling to take 1 made up 12 foot,2 piece rod and a pin, i do want a shoulder strap, space for a landing net handle would be a plus, what would you recommend, thanks in advance.

I've had a Gardner river roving sling for a while now and it has a shoulder strap. There is enough room for my Fox specialist brolly in the main compartment and space for storm poles. There is a space with Velcro straps in between the rods for a landing net handle.
(Bfw shop sell them)

Hi Mark , I brought a couple of proteX padded slings some years ago and they are good quality with ample room for a pin and pole. Must confess to have hardly used either and can't for the life of me remember why I brought two as you would only usually take one out on a session.

Can't seem to load the pic the right way up
If you're down my way pop in and have a look as they're only gathering dust.

Sorry forgot to say I use the long tip protectors. I was thinking about getting a korum total protection quiver, but this offers enough protection for my rods. As long as you are aware of passing under branches it's fine.

Sorry, forgot to say i would like to have the rod completely covered, like a padded rod bag with a strap.David, thanks anyway i think sling might possibly be sleeve

Here ya go Dave :) Crikey man, how many net heads do ya need :D

Try a program called Imgur for uploading your pics, much better/easier than photobucket. Check the technical help section. Stephen Crowhurst told me about this, ( thanks again Ste ), if i can use it, anyone can. :)

Sounds like you would be better off using a rod sleeve...http://www.chubfishing.co.uk/chub-luggage-holdall/chub-vantage-universal-rod-sleeve/1346641-0300.html
in conjunction with a quiver http://www.chubfishing.co.uk/chub-luggage-holdall/chub-vantage-2-rod-plus-special-quiver/1346654-0300.html#start=11
You would then have total protection for the rod and also space in the quiver for landing net handle, banksticks and an umbrella if required.

I am usually ok with computy things (in fact I write tutorials for some stuff:)) but I tried this Imgur. Firstly on my android mobile I signed in with a gmail address, uploaded an image (just a patch of grass) and it just gave me a code (no .jpg extension). Then I downloaded it and it gave me a different code (WITH .jpg extension)

Then I got notification of someone commenting on it, someone with an odd (kinky) name and his comment included lots of swearwords (not clever).

I tried on my PC and it's a whole lot different. It all looks a bit Facebooky, using the word viral etc, I've deleted my test image and backed away smartly.
