rod recomendation

Looking for an 11ft avon type rod for local canal carping, it will be used for floater fishing and float fishing down the margins, using 8lb line to 6lb hook lengths.
I want a fairly soft action (not a poker), at the moment i'm using a 12ft 1.5lb barbel duo, and its action seems fine, but would imagine that the same rod in 11ft would be too stiff, As the 11ft 1.75lb fox XS i have is massivly different, also to make things more difficult I dont want to pay the earth as its only for a couple of months a year.

Darryl, I appreciate that mate, I would have never even looked at those, and it seems ideal for the job, as said it needs to be quite soft as I like to cast surface baits freeline with no controller etc.. so a soft action is perfect.
Thank you.

See if you can get hold of a chimera Avon, 11', 1.5lb tc with a lovely through action, or a Free Spirit specialist (same length tc etc) both will be more than suitable

I've been using the CS11AS for Perch and Roach fishing, I've had accidental Carp to high singles on them and they're excellent with no dramas at all. In fact I'll be using them purposely for low doubles and above this year. The stepped up CS11A might be right for you.

Yep the older John Wilson avon's, teh ones on green blank are excellent and would probably suit your purpose.

Thanks Gents, just opted for the Browning syntec force 2 peice pellet rod, looks and feels ideal.
