Come on now Derek, us anglers are inventive ... screw your dog-spike into the ground between your rods, and have the rope in your lap. Then you can haul your sorry ass up outa your chair, and straight to your rods. Brilliant ...especially when night fishing and you're not 100% sure where your rods are :D
