Road salt

Senior Member
Hi all,
What with all this cold weather and the fishing not being very good, i was wondering what the effect of road salt was going into the water? It turns out that it is classed as a toxin by the Canadians. Re. Canadian environment protection act 1999 and poses a risk to plants, animals and the aquatic environment. It contains sodium ferrocyanide and ferric ferrocyanide to prevent caking during storage. No wonder the rivers are rubbish when this lot goes into it.
