River rod rests

Hi everyone,

Any recommendations on river rod rests? Using single 46inc bank sticks x2 and thinking maybe those attached custom angling solutions.

Any other recommendations of feedback on the attached welcomed.

Whilst we are on the subject to people find a hockey post solution better than singles ? I suppose it’s situation dependent.

I found these are very good.

They are very good…… once 3 ft twitch proofed

River rests are great. Even they got a little “richy” tweak too

What an epic idea can you share the bits and size you used to do the isotope bit are they quick release bottoms or your own ones all together ?

It is as simple as it looks in the photo Dan.
An isotope and 40mm bit of 2:1 shrink tube.
The bottom bit is just an avid quick change thing. Think they were designed for storm poles but I use em for everything because they don’t have any free play at all when locked.

They were a bit more complicated than they needed to be. I turned them on the lathe out of aluminum and threaded them. Then I cut/tapped the thread into the rest. Screwed them in to it with a strong glue then heat shrunk around them to avoid the rod being clanged into the aluminum.
You could do it much much simpler

Should have gone for the green rich with added Luna ring at the bottom

You could do exactly the same thing if you just drill through the rest, put a 6mm bolt in from the under side and put two or 3 nuts on. Then just a bit of heat shrink around the nuts to protect the blank.
