River Ijssel Holland.

Does anyone have any experience of fish the Ijssel in Gelderland?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Test curve of rods, size of weights etc.
I’m also looking for campsites close to the river.

I fished it, it makes the tidal trent look like a backwater! The levels were relatively low so I fished with my regular 1.75 rods. It's a rocky old bottom so I fished 5ft of lead core with big feeders helicopter style.
If it's pushing a bit then 2lb-2.25 rods would be better, especially if you're chucking big feeders.
I camped at Isjelbrook or something, again Tim Jansen is your man.... Cees Van Dongen (apologies if I mis-spelled) is full of knowledge too.
Some huge Ide in there, tons of bream and chance of a bonus monster catfish. As with any form of barbel fishing, if they're in your swim then you will catch on any bait/method.... Although cheese is a popular bait over there. Enjoy!
