Hi Bill. I have a Swallow mk II myself, so may well ask Dave to fit the drag system to it. He will then have a much better idea about how much work is involved and the costs etc.
At this stage I was just wondering if it's something that would interest others. Do you have a centrepin that would benefit from the mod?
Sorry for late reply Tim, not sure which of my 'pins I would modify at the moment but generally interested in the idea. Price would be a good starter and the knowledge that ALL reels could be done, even something as obscure as a Shakespeare Black Eagle perhaps ?
RE: Drag. Sounds a good idea, or you could of follow Royal Mails finest, pick up an elastic band, triple or quadruple it, pass it up the rod to the corks above the reel seat and tuck your line under that. Job done. Or if Aerials (non-caliper) are your thing put a stronger spring in which a friend of mine did making a nice job utilizing what was originally a sprung door/gate hinge.
