The knot failed linking my mainline to my hooklength tonight. It happened just as i was about to net a fish. The barbel swam off with my hair rig. I had a barbless, very sharp size 10 hook on. I use a running lead so thats on the river bed out of harms way. I would hope the fish has rubbed the hook out on a snag by now. I have never had a hook come out while playing a fish and use barbless hooks to aid unhooking. I cant see the point of barbed hooks unless sea fishing or fly fishing.
