Hi Adrian,
my missus is a Brecknockshire girl, so given a choice between Powys and W,ton.
The Barbel benefit is we live 20mins from the Wye, I haven't fished the Severn for ages and certainly not back at Shrewsbury. But it won't be the same, probably best remember it as it was, "first contact" with an enduring passion.
