I've had a great season and I have really enjoyed my fishing this term.
I've been a lucky boy with the Barbel again this year with some big fish up to 17lb 10oz and for the first time in four years I actually had a Barbel on the tip at 13lb 5oz.
Managed my first double from Fishers green last Wednesday at 10lb 1oz (called it 10).
Most importantly I have met quite a few BFWer's over a couple of outings (Crooky is as mad as a box of rocks), couple of nice days out with Conrad and the BFW Grayling day was great fun with a nice meal after (well done Nathan)..
Had another great day out yesterday attempting to catch Roach with Graham Elliot and Steve Sorrel at Britford, (Roach were the original target but we quickly assessed the conditions and switched our efforts to try and beat the world Minnow bashing record) Graham is a Chub magnet when he is not catching Minnows, and Steve kept the official count, I did not quite catch his exact words about the total caught, I think he said “King millions†or something like it!
I know we all have a very silly hobby and although catching fish is the aim, it is NOT the be all and end all, I have had some great days out this year that have been memorable for things other than catching, next term I am going to make an effort to get to more of the social fish ins and I am looking forward to those very much.
So thanks chaps, some of you have helped to make my season one I shall remember for many years to come.
Tight lines for the last few days.
