Reel Repairs

Let me know how you get on with em @Jamie Warren[/USE
[/QUOTE]
I charge for my time and parts so it definitely works both ways. I’m very greatful to the members that send me these little private jobs.
those 6010’s come out like new pennies
In that case I’ve got 4 5010’s that could do with a tune up haha. ones got a temperamental bail arm that doesn’t spring back like it used too. Could maybe send 2 initially if you could take a look?

I don’t normally do repairs simply because I don’t stock spares. I just happen to have the odd bit in a secret stash and if it fits I’ll fix it. I don’t have anything for the 5010 unfortunately but I will be happy to service them for you and if I can fix something I’ll do it. Pm me for a quote if you want

Gents I do appreciate the kind words on here and the feeders, scales threads etc and I’m more than happy to be of help when needed.
Im not an “all eyes on me” person really. I’m no different to any of you guys with trades behind you. IT gurus and chefs baffle me…. Super powers in those skllls.

I’m a welder/mechanical engineer by trade. Unfortunately working my way through the ranks I don’t lift a spanner or a welding torch much anymore. My job now is a bit of a mixed bag between problem solving and solution selling. (Same shit just don’t get dirty)
So as you can imagine I get a bit of kick out of ripping your reels and scales apart and slapping some lead round a cage. It’s a nice excuse to get my hands grubby and the best kick i get out of it is the appreciation and genuine feedback you send me.
so thanks.

I have a Penn livelier 460l which I lost the handle from but works as it should and to get a new handle is about £40 + and people can't get Penn spares so wouldn't hold out much hope for the penn

Handle available from USA $26.85.

I cannot vouch for this company but it looks legit

Neil

Yes he has certainly redeemed himself since the Inspector Gadget bankstick/rodrest.
As an engineer myself,i have just finished a forty year stretch for toolmaking, i have to admit that one made me smile.😊
