I have a vintage WH Norris cane fly fishing rod that was gifted to me from a friend who does house clearances.
I live in Leamington Spa and Bill “Nocker” Norris used to have the tackle shop I used to go to in the 80’s so I’d love to out this rod to use.
It’s absolutely immaculate and looking at the cork handle it looks to be unused.
My question is, is it an easy job to remove the current reel seat, strip the cork handle off and re-cork with the reel-seat in a position more suited for course fishing ?
I’d love to catch a decent Chub / Barbel on it on the W.Avon, in fact that’s my target above all else this season.
