Cased (taxidermy) barbel for sale + Hants Avon roach
The barbel weighs 10-04 (July 1989) was caught by a BCC member Chris Shotis from the Wensum, his dad worked on the estate that rented the fishing to the Wensum Barbel Syndicate run by Dave Plummer. He knew John Bailey, Tony Miles and Trefor West.
I bought the fish in 1990 from Chris as he was still cut up about it dying.
To have this fish set up now would be about £1200, plus you would have to catch one!
The roach case is not in A1 condition, but would fetch £175+ at auction.
Anyone interested in the barbel, I am open to sensible offers based on the rarity of this item.
