Quivers with sleeves or any other options!?

It’s Barmy!!
I’m sure these companies have missed a trick here.
Probably the most common carry up for a barbel angler and a lot of them simply don’t cater properly with full length sleeves.
2 made up rods, a brolley, a net pole and a couple of bank sticks. How difficult is that?
I’d of thought Korum would be straight onto that given the earlier addition had it covered.
And what’s this with reels not fitting? Christ these things should be suited to the mobile carpers with pit reels. No bloody good struggling to squeeze in a 6000 shimmy.
I get the feeling tackle isn’t designed by anglers much any more.
Also....... one last winge. Where the hell are the single rod options.
Why can’t we have a single rod sleeve with 2 pockets to fit our gear into. I’d buy one tomorrow if there was. I use one rod a lot and I would love a little compact sleeve that could take my single rod roving gear.

I bought a Korum 2 rod Quiver.

If you use protectors..... the butts don't fit into the base pockets..... !!

My Drennan one has p poor thin Velcro straps that undo under any carrying for distance.

The latest Transition quiver looks good but is a 3 rod one. No 2 rod planned.

So I continue to use my old knackered Korum one circa 2000.

For total protection the NGT one. But again for 2 x 12ft rods a tight squeeze and no butt separation at base. Forget butt protectors!
Just manages to fit 2 x 5000 reels with handles folded.

So. I just really want a 2 rod quiver. Room for umbrella. Room for landing net handle. Room for two rod rests.

Thick Velcro straps. ( No cords to tighten)

And base separation that can be used with protectors.

Korun once did them.

The older Korum total protection hold all’s won’t allow for tip or butt sleeves either but that doesn’t bother me too much as they are encapsulated in that hard case so no harm can come to the sections. Dunno why they changed it to be honest.
People do say they are a ball ache to get rods in and out but the trick is to put rods in first or take them out last.
With a brolley on the side it squeezes it together so makes it difficult with big reels. If the holdall is empty the rods just fall straight in.

I usually take two rods, and a lot of years ago, found a couple of "Cypry" rod sleeves, they just niceley fit two piece twelve foot rods with some quite big Shimano baitrunners attached. With a cheap quiver ( a bit too big but its all there was) I found at an angling sale they have done me proud for a long time, and I was thinking about maybe finding something similar, the tracker NGX 2 looked good, but since seeing it on here I have done a bit of research and really it is far too bulky for my needs.

I would like something similar to RIchards last post, for two rods.but as he says, luggage doesnt seem to be made with anglers in mind very much these days , Why do tackle companies automatically assume that we always take 3 rods everywhere and make quivers for three rods but not two , with the body of the quiver large enough to fit a small convoy of South American gold diggers inside ?

I think luggage is probably designed more with Carpers in mind generally, it seems they have cornered the market in every respect, I have no interest in Carp at all, so really, maybe along with a few others, I am in a minority group.

I use cane quite a lot, and tbh the old canvas "holdall" I use with them is more practical than a lot of the stuff available these days .

Have a look at this, it is for 3 rods but looks quite slim and compact. I was gonna order one but went for the Fox specialist quiver.

As I’ve said before the earlier 2 rod total protection quiver was a very good product and as Richard says “put your rods in first and take them out last” but it just needed to be a little roomier around the reel section, had it been just that bit roomier it would have been perfect, they have certainly missed the boat with their latest incarnation

I suppose I could actually strap my Brolly into the third rod sock,so it may he worth a look , I wonder if I could maybe manage to strap my Cypry sleeves into the rod bottom sections , I do like to have my rods enclosed, I always end up getting tangied in trees and bushes when they are open and rigged up.

Cheers !

Sorting out my gear for a session tomorrow, I have discovered that I have the solution to my “ quiver” problem sat in my rod cupboard!
I have a black padded Ian Golds rod quiver for my sea gear, basically, it is just a long heavy duty nylon tube, with two outside straps and a “ shoe” to secure a tripod as well. I can fit a full rod with a reel attached inside a “ Cypry rod sleeve inside it, plus my brolly, landing net pole / landing net, and banksticks , outside if needed I can attach a second Cypry sleeve containing a second rod, there is room inside for additional banksticks if needed .

I can say that compared to anything else I have seen it ticks all the boxes, it has a full length zip, shoulder strap, an integral handle with two seperate positions to balance the load if you use it, and,imo it is made of tougher material than comparable quivers for freshwater use .

Here it is with two rods, one inside and one out ..both in rod sleeves, with enough ironmongery inside for a days fishing.

Loaded as it is it is still less bulky than my usual setup. Being made for sea angling it is really robust, I have owned it for going on ten years, its been up and down cliffs, dragged over sand and weed, rained on, tripped over, chucked in the back of vans and cars etc etc .
I think it cost about twenty quid .
I know there is a new one out now, a bit different, in black, or blue , if it is as tough aa mine it will be worth the money.

Sorted !

Yes. Looked there. All OOS

Just had the below delivered, doesn't look like the rods will fit in the quiver with the protection on. Think I'm gonna have to find someone with a sewing machine and make some modifications!

I'm going to give a thumbs up to my new Aqua gear as it all arrived yesterday and I've transferred my gear across and it seems ace. Let me say it cost a bit, about £100, for the Aqua roving quiver, two Aqua 3/4 sleeves and two pairs of Drennan socks for tips and butts. However, it is housing the best part of £1k of rod and reel. Here are some pics, rods are pretty much covered top to bottom 👌

Just for clarity, in the pics, the quiver has two 12' rods, two 6000D reels, a brolly, landing net handle, two storm poles with bite alarms on and a bankstick with a selfie adapter attached. The central compartment is accessed either via the top, or there is a full length zip down the side. I cannot see why this won't also house my bigger 50 inch brolly, and my tripod as well. You'd just slacken the rod retaining strap off and re tighten once the central section has more gear in 👍
