quest baits

Hi guys looking for information on the quest baits anyone had luck on the bait looking for a year long bait to introduce in the river

Simon, i used the Special Crab boilies and paste and i had barbel on all the rivers i fish. They smell great and with a paste wrap can work well in coloured water. I never got round to trying Rajia Spice which is supposed to be their most successful winter/all year round barbel bait(contains robin red) followed by the special crab.
If i had any bait left i would send it to you FOC but i only bought a kilo of special crab boilies and a small pot of matching paste which i used up in under a season.

Regards Dave

Take a look at their web site and check out Pat Gillet's diary, very interesting, should give you the info you need.

The special crab and the raha spice are great baits and shaun is a nice guy to deal with, the mail order service is very quick...Also a lot of barbel have fallen to their absolute seafood boilies....I always soak my hookbaits and use the boilies with the paste wrap......Give them a try.

Cheers guy I'm starting a new section of river were the barbel are not fished for alot there's a good head of them so will be walking and pre baiting the section in new season to get them on the bait b4 first cast I like the sound and read up on the special crab version and Rahja Spice but the Questrami Boilies sounds a hood bait so many to choice from

I think people get too hung up on baits. Finding the fish and watercraft are your best friends. If it is food barbel will eat it if it is put in front of them and they are feeding.

I have watched a shoal and put a bait amongst them and had a couple out if the shoal straight away yet on another day they have totally ignored it. Same group of fish within a couple of days.

Very true John some anglers do get hung up on baits. And as most of us know there is no "Holy Grail" of barbel baits. But i do make sure i have some lobworms and of course spam! :p

Used quest baits for years, brilliant bait both rahja spice and special crab. Like someone has already said tho, confidence is a big thing and more importantly location but you wont go far wrong with a good bait behind you;)

Confidence does make a big difference and personally i will leave the bait in for longer if i have caught on it before, and more so if i know barbel are usually in the swim.

Agree with Paul Hamer.....

Shaun Harrison from Quest is a very accomplished angler and his bait is used on the quiet by quite a few big fish anglers. His barbel videos on YouTube are great to watch, he has caught stacks of big barbel. Many are Trent fish too.

I've been using the Rahja Spice recently and have yet to catch on them. Even though conditions haven't always been favourable, it really does affect your confidence. I caught a lot of fish on T7 baits over the years but now my stocks have run out and T7 are no longer in business I've been looking elsewhere. The elips pellets were my 'go to' bait and I was always confident of catching (if there were feeding barbel in the vicinity). Not so nowadays, even using the Hinders pellet (it just doesn't smell the same).

I read about, and tend to agree with, the fact that a feeding barbel will take anything if presented correctly. Jeez, I guess I'm just having a bad season! :)

I think most of the old T7 baits are now available from Andy Clitheroe, in conjunction with Dave Mason, they had a stall at the Barbel Society Show earlier this year. I bought quite a bit :) Andy's number is 07811829089

Cheers
