Afternoon all, was just inquiring as to pike fishing the fens.
I'm not after anyone favourite spots or secret locations..I live in lowestoft so a couple of hours drive away. Only ever fished the river nean years ago for some barbel. But didn't know if it was worth a day trip for some pike.
Not really sure where to head for. But if anyone would be kind enough to point me is the rought direction that would be great,
Planning on a days roving about.
Regards
Alex

Hi Alex
A good few yrs ago we used to Zander and pike fish the Fens quite a bit.
I found the 20ft around March a good area and also had good success on the 16ft. The old river nene around March was also a favourite.....hope this gives you an area to start looking into.

Thanks Lee much appreciated. I'd do some google work to find a car park and go from there.

I6ft, 20ft, 40ft, Middle level and cut-off channel all worth fishing in my day. These days I’ve no idea. The road runs right alongside a couple of them, which makes it easier to try a few different spots in a day.

The relief channel was also decent - but a bit daunting as it is a big piece of water. I caught my first ever zander there.

The best spots are usually well off the beaten track and take a bit of finding. My then fishing mate was pals with the legendary Ray Webb and he used to take us to the middle of nowhere !

We used to park by the water treatment plant in March and the drain is right there.....there is a bridge straight infront of you and down the field to the right is the confluence of the Nene. I used to sit right on the corner of the field and had 1 rod in the 20ft another in the Nene or the junction itself lol......fair time ago tho. Used to go 3 times a year for a week at a time ....loved it.
