Pike fishing Wales

Hi all,
I've left this a bit 11th hours but it's dawned on me I'm on holiday with the wife, little one and in-laws in Wales next week and I may need the urge to get out and wet a line. Is there anywhere around Machynlleth, say within an hour drive that I can do some Pike fishing? I've googled around but not having much luck past trout fishing.....

AA route planner says approx 45 minutes drive for the 30 miles of stunning scenery
