Pete Reading Barbel Pin in mint condition

A Pete Reading Barbel Pin in mint condition, it can only have had little, if any, use. The reel spins fantastically well and absolutely true on smooth and quiet bearings. Low serial number 30, so made by Hans Juhkental prior to his passing. A very well thought out barbel fishing reel, featuring a conveniently placed lever to operate the crisp and strong ratchet mechanism, a solid drum core to avoid line kink, a knurled rim to aid control in wet conditions, and importantly a drag mechanism operated by the central knob on the face of the spool which allows operation with your left hand whilst playing a fish. The spool even has a small hole in the core to pass the line through to avoid having a knot that may interfere with line lay. Gorgeous bronze anodisation and nicely engraved on the brass drag knob with the profile of a barbel. 4 1/2" diameter, and 7/8" width between the spool flanges. These are becoming even harder to find as many have passed into the hands of collectors. I have left the brass parts tarnished, but these could very easily be polished if that's your preference.
