Just don't think you can get better value than the Drennan series 7 1.25 outfit personally. But this is the lovely thing about threads like these. Everyone has their own preference.

I'm going to be having some Torrix 1.25's built for my Chub at some point, and I'd imagine they'd be just as good although stupid money. (But have credit to use with Mark Tunley)
And if I opt for the quiver section too, then it'll be a great all round species rod...

I can't compare as I have not used it personaly, but I have read lots of positive reviews and will check it out when next in a store that has one. The Drennan Series 7 Specialist Avon Quiver @ 1.75lbs has caught my eye however. It's just hard to justify the purchase of one currently due to having so many rods that overlap already, as well as the fact I have been out of work for two months nearly (however the great news is I finally start a new job next Tuesday).

I opted for for a spliced 2oz tip plus a carrier section that will accept Drennan carbon tips
A lot of money but my favourite barbel rod when flow allows but even then I can put a 4oz tip in and cope with biggish feeders and a bit of push if I need to
I got it as a chub rod and had some nice fish to 6 - detects the wariest of winter bites but loads of power to bully them away from snags
Best with 40-50g feeders i think
Just sublime rod and beautifully built by MT
I have thought of getting another but tbh I’ve caught more fish using and enjoying one rod in the hand than fishing a pair on bank sticks

I came across a cheap second hand 11ft Acolyte carp waggler yesterday and couldn't resist so I now have a perch option. It should work quite well I think and could double for trotting for chub on smaller rivers. I'm still tempted with a Darent valley .75lb so I have a second rod.

That's great news on the job front! Must be a relief!
I'm in the same boat. Need to offload a load of rods & keep the better quality ones. But like you I have a few cross over jobs, but need to be resolute in getting some sold off...

Got a couple of 12' Torrix 1.25 specials both twin tips (1 x standard and 1x insert quivers), the top one has a flattened handle and is Harrison chestnut brown. Glass fibre quivers shown, although I did make some carbon too.

Done this sort of modification on a number of Harrison rods - good way to use bust tips, providing they have broken in a convenient place.

Good luck, especially with offloading some of your rods. I know that even if left unused, it's hard to part with them. Either for sentimental reasons, or in my case the 'well you new know, I might need it someday...' scenario.

Joe, do you say the Chimera Avon is soft enough for ledgering for chub? I am sure it is not as sensitive as a quiver tip, but is it sensitive enough for the job?

I had the original Harrison Avon 1lb 6oz blank built by MT with a spliced 2oz tip as a chub rod a little while ago. It’s a tremendous little 11footer and would be equally as fantastic for perch.
I’d imagine it’s very similar to the chimera Avon in many ways.

As Joe rightly said though very expensive especially when you get crazy ticking all the boxes for spendy custom options.

As far as through actioned multi tip Avon rods go you’ll be hard pushed to better a used shimano from the 90’s/00’s
They had loads of them in the ranges from techniums, stradics, purists, Antares etc all brilliant rods and will be perfect for big chub, perch, roach, bream, tench and even in the right situation they’ll tame carp and barbel.

I’ve got a stradic specialist that cost me near bugga all yet it’s one of the most beautiful players rods I’ve ever used especially when a double figure barbel crashes your chub party.

I remember that post, lovemy rod. Richard. I am in the middle of building my chub/perch rod based on chimera Avon, but I didn’t go for the quiver tip since I will use it for float fishing and as Joe said, the Avon tip is good enough for ledgering.
