Perch fishing near Oswestry/ Shrewsbury

Hi Gents
I've come over to near Shrewsbury for the week and managed to sneak my fishing stuff in the car for the family hol!
Is there anyone that can point me in the right direction for a chance of a few bites on the ultralight gear on a canal or anywhere fishable near here. I was hoping to fish a few stretches on the river Severn for perch but is on its banks so it's a no go!

I hear the Canal near Welshpool does good perch
 
Ask in the local tackle shop - Total angling.

There is a big commercial nr Oswestry- Weston Pools. No idea what’s in there…..
