Hi guys. After a size guide for the Penn slammers. I need a reel for beach casting/Pike/Carp fishing to about 100 yards. Would you opt for the 460L,560L or 760L?
Hi Sam,
I use the old 460 live liner holds 300 metre of 100lb Berkley braid. Great for cat fishing close in for my trips to France.
They have new models out now 4500 300yd of 8lb line, 6500 330yd 12lb, 7500 440yd 15lb, 8500 440yd 20lb, 9500 360yd 30lb and 10500 415yd 30lb might get some of these big babies for my long range French cat fish trips. They are really good reels.
Thanks Paul, only just saw your reply. After no initial response I took the plunge and purchased a pair of 460Ls. Very well built reels, and I got them for £75 a piece brand new.
would opt for the 560 for pike, the 460 a bit small, used mine for pike ,couldnt get the distance i needed,i have the 460,a great reel for barbel only for me
