I would like to highly recommend the drennan specimen microbarb hook range. The size 10 is very strong for its wire diameter and penetrates really well.
This is first hand ( my left ) experience today. Went into my thumb behind the nail with no bother. But ouch what a "B" to get out.

I had a chub decide to shed a size 10 Korda Wide Gape in my finger a couple of years ago, leaving the going through the chubs lip.
I cut the line and returned the fish and set about pulling the hook back out.
Could I pull it out!
Luckily had a set of small cutters so pushed it through and cut the eye off.
