Opinion/user reviews of the Vass 700 waders

Hello all,

I’m planning on doing more float fishing this season and several swims I’ve got in mind require the use of waders to get proper access to the full run.

Any opinions on the Vass 700 waders?

Thanks

Roger

I didn’t even think about temperature control if I’m honest.

These seem decent for the money but I accept they won’t be breathable like the more expensive materials would be.

If you have fairly wide feet or a high instep all the Vass waders and boots I have tried are an uncomfortable fit. They seem to taper in at the front and pinch my feet. If you buy a bigger size your feet just move around abd rub. Who wants to wear loads of thick socks?! Pity really as they are well made. These are my personal experiences anyway.

As Andrew says I have found the Vass foot fittings unsuitable in my normal size that's why I was selling on here a pair of Vass slip on trainers
They were size 11 my size but I had to buy another pair size 12 which although fit better still seem tight against my big toe

I used a set of e700 vas waders for a full season and found them to be very good on the most parts.
They are incredibly robust. You would need to push a sharp fishing hook with a bit of force to penetrate through them. The material is definitely suited to the wader that would climb down rocky banks or kneel on the ground and they’ll take it easily and more.

Foot size is 1 up for me. I’m a 10 and found the vass 11 to be perfect. Comfortable boots and not a bad grip. Not brilliant grip but certainly not bad.
Downside is as you’d expect. They are thick and heavy. You can’t have waders that tough without additional weight and I found that after a short walk in them I was gagging to get knacker deep in the river for a cool off.

They ain’t too bad at all once your in the water you don’t feel too hot at all even on a very hot day but walking to and from swims in them you don’t need to go far before your soaking with sweat inside them.

For the money they are very good imo and if you are someone that gives waders a hard time then they will definitely deal with the abuse.
I’ve gone onto more breathable lighter weight set this season from wynchwood and I must admit I’m really enjoying the luxury of putting them on out the boot of the car and just going for a long walk without even noticing them being on. How well they will fair to a scuff n scrape I don’t know only time will tell.
