50+ is some collection. I like to keep my old gear with the intention of using it again some day but never do.I cover all aspects of the sport tiddler bashing with a whip to big game and everything in between, game, coarse and sea. Rods/poles probably 50+, reels many more if I include my display shelf pins. I tend to keep my old gear intending to repurpose and use it again at some stage and invariably do, my old Greys Prodigy barbel rods are now my eel rods for example.
Just the 10? Your slacking man
Can’t confess that sort of info on a forum Adam, if a leak occurred and the current Mrs W found out …
"CRIKEY "14 rods 16 reels
"WOW"Funnily enough I tidied my garage last weekend having recently acquired a lock up to store my boat in and as part of that activity I bought a rod storage rack to store my rods in both with and without reels attached in necessary. Therefore I know exactly what I have and the list is as follows in approximately chronological order:
A twelve foot vintage tank aerial that was my dads.
A nine foot hand built solid glass that was my dads.
A seven foot hand built solid glass that was my dads and my first ever weapon of choice for gudgeon.
A nine foot hollow glass all rounder which was the first rod I ever bought.
A thirteen foot sigma supra carbon match float rod.
A twenty two foot roach pole.
A seven foot solid glass 50 lb class boat rod and small multiplier.
A seven foot carbon 20 lb class ugly stick boat rod and penn sea boy multiplier.
A seven foot John Wilson 50 lb class boat rod and penn sea boy multiplier.
Two eleven foot daiwa carbon carp rods at 1 1/2 test curve.
A light carbon custom built eight foot quiver tip.
A John Wilson twin tip Avon.
A custom built barbel quiver based on the same rod as the two light carp rods above.
A northwestern barbel quiver.
A custom built 2 1/2 lb carp rod that I use for river piking these days.
Two Harrison avons at 1lb 6oz twinned with vintage youngs rapidex ( one of which I bought on here recently )
Two Harrison avons at 1lb 10oz twinned with fox stratos 7000s.
One fourteen foot Diwali specimen float rod twinned with a light okuma reel.
One seven weight fly rod and reel.
Two 2 1/2 lb pike rods twinned with a couple of cheap big pit reels that I use for pike but originally bought for carp.
One heavy jerk bait rod twinned with a multiplier and 80 lb braid.
One light jerk bait rod twinned with a small okuma multiplier and 30 lb braid.
I also have about 20 odd Mitchell, intrepid, and some unnamed centre pin reels that never get used.
I haven’t bought a rod or reel (rapidex aside) for well over ten years now so may treat myself to a couple of shimmy’s to replace the stratos that are beginning to feel their age now.
Nice thread, that was fun !
18 rods
15 reels
I must get 3 more ss1000 reels to even it up
. . . I think I have a problem . . .had a clear out over lockdown but still use the following!
26x Rods / 1x Pole / 27x Reels
I've just shown this thread to my misses. She now thinks I'm an angel compared to others on here .
She's so lucky !!!!!
