Night sight quiver tips

Thinking about getting a couple of Drennan night sight quiver tips.
Anyone have any experience with these?

I've got some,do work but you have to keep recharging them with a torch, prefer to use mine with a couple of isotopes...
Luke

I bought one the other day Gary, they fit my Preston rod so i thought i'd try one,as Luke says, you may as well forget the glow in the dark bit, because they just don't really, nice soft-ish tips though.

I use the Drennan isotopes, i was told when i bought them they'll last years, that was about 4 years ago, and they are still going strong, - i've superglued the tubes to the clip though as they pinged off a couple of times, bit they're easy to find in the dark, one even fell into the water at night, and i found it easy enough. apart from that i can't fault them, prior to that i made my own holders, and whipped them onto my rod tops, then put one of the Drennan float isotopes ( the type you have to break ) on those, but they have a shelf life, and i was forever picking up old ones that didn't glow or didn't last long.
But the permanent type are excellent, i would guess the enterprise make are equally as good.

Ian.

Thanks for the replies. :)

I use the drennan isotopes with avon tops but not too sure with quivertips.
(worried about catching and snapping)

Are the enterprise ones less prone to snagging?

They're not too bad,i've found mono much more prone than braid to wrapping back round the isotope though, especially if your lines a bit twisted.Best to check before each cast,i've had a 6oz feeder land at my feet more than once,i've not done a tip yet but i'd be worried about snapping a quiver i think.....:)

I use the Drennan ones and don't have much trouble with them catching up but I only fish a small ish river so don't have to cast to far

Instead of putting them at the end of the quiver, bring them up/down the tip. You will still see the bites.
I do prefer the Drennan isotopes, as there is about every size of connection you will ever need.

I have found that the enterprise adapters used with the drennan isotopes work great together. The angle on the enterprise adapter stops them snagging, especially if you put them right up near the tip so the line drops over end of rod when brushing over the top.

Do the drennan isotopes stay in enterprise adapters ok?
Thought they would be a bit to small and prone to pinging out or do you glue them in?

If anything, they're a pig to get in!The Drennan ones come in a rubber sleeve,i trim the lower bit off and then push the whole lot into the adaptor, never had one come off....:)

Thanks.

So a couple of enterprise adapters, a couple of drennan isotopes, a new 4 oz quiver and the jobs a good'un. :)

Just a thought,i'm talking about the standard avon/barbel adapters, think enterprise do smaller ones for q'tips, the drennan isotopes may not fit in those, guess the rubber sleeve might be thinner....?

Its just the hole for the tip that is smaller on the quiver version.

I throw the enterprise sleeve away and use the sleeves that come with the drennan isoptopes, they have nice round sealed tops and fit straight onto the enterprise adapter. They hold fine when new but if you take them off after a long while (years) the sleeve has stretched and a dab of glue is required when you put them back on.

One of mine is probably 5 years old now and is still bright.

This works perfectly :)
Will keep the enterprise sleeve handy for when the isotopes have stretched.

Looks a much better finish than the Drennan holders and IMO alot less likely to snag.

Is the OP not referring to these rather than the Drennan isotopes or chemical night lites?

Anyone know what rods the Drennan replacement tips actually fit?

I was refering to the tips but the general opinion is that they do not work very well.

Pretty sure the Drennan tips fit Daiwa also.

Having never used isotopes yet i'me sorry if i'me asking an obvious question but why are you using enterprise adaptors with drennan isotopes and vice versa. I would have thought an isotope would have been OK in the adaptor it was made for. Need to know before i go and buy some.

The Enterprise adapter sits at a forward angle and have a cleaner finish.
Have used them the last few sessions and while they are not snag proof they are IMO better than the Drennan ones.
