Thanks for the replies so far.

I'm already tending towards the Reuben Heaton 9000's.

The Reuben Heaton specimen scales are a bit pricey for me at £80+.

I have a set of Reuben Heaton 9000's not been used much since purchase £24 delivered if of any interest.

Do the 9000s have a tare facility?

Yes Lee, tare, self lock on stabilizing, backlit [can be switched on and off] and switches off automatically after 4 minutes to preserve battery life...ticked all my boxes and gets another recommendation from me...:)

Reuben Heaton Specimen dial scales . No batteries to go flat on them , tough and very accurate . You could always get another set of Avons , still plenty cropping up on E bay

Use the RH9000 scales myself, first set the lcd screen packed up,second set after replacement faultless so far
