New rods

Thanks Michael, i was a bit worried about the action and hoped they would be similar to what i had. The picture seems to show they will fit the bill nicely as i wont get a bend in them until the season starts unless i give them an outing for the Tench.

The guru specimen rod is not as through action as tamer, tamer has that true classic through action, if you like the guru rod, I am slightly worried that you may find tamer too soft😂.

I only used the cadence barbel rods for about a hour, but the rods are more tippy and stiff.

I dont mind a soft rod as i fished for Bream & Tench on the meres for years and quite like to feel the fight right through to the reel seat as long as it will still chuck a 3&4 oz feeder out. If not, standby for a couple of ‘nearly new’ rods for sale! 🤣 They should be turning up today……🙏

Morning ,

The Tamers are great rods. I got a pair of 2.25, 12 footers 4 years ago. I love them.

They've handled everything I've thrown at them from the Warks Avon to the Trent and 8oz leads. Not to mention gravel pit tench fishing and rogue carp to 35lbs.

They're light, responsive and a pleasure to play fish on.

A couple of pics when playing an angry Trent barbel..

Thanks

Lewis

The Tamers turned up today. Nice looking rods that are obviously well made but they do seem a bit ‘sloppy’ for my liking (as Huanzhou suggested) They might be fun to use so will give them a go when the season starts. I’ve chucked a few leads around the garden (had the usual “you wont catch there mate” off the neighbours 🤣) and all seems ok for now. The jury is out until June!

I almost bought myself a Tamer, either the 1.5 or the 2lb version but I was worried they would feel too soft for me and from the sounds of it they would have been. Shame as they look a really lovely rod. At least it sames my relationship and bank account by not buying yet another rod 🤣
