New River Levels Website fishinginfo.co.uk launched by Angling Trust

River temperatures are a different beast altogether, from what we get down on the Thames they comes from the AWQMS, not the gauging stations as with levels. Plus the Thames and tribs are fairly unique as having many fixed monitoring stations. Just for info this came out earlier this year Angling Data View | Thames Anglers' Conservancy

Great to see this site from the ATr, feels a little like work in progress and expect it to be snaggy in the early days so be interested to see how it progresses. There are a few obvious mistakes on the venues page which is slightly disappointing, maybe avoided with more local knowledge. Will, a push towards the regional forums for more accurate info is an idea.

Not knocking it, can only see it getting better and better.

(Will if you are down at Sandown this weekend, have a chat then)

Hi Dave,

Yes, this is v1 and v2 will be released around March 2014 with intermediate fixes on the most pressing snags before then. The venues data is supplied from EA data which you might have seen in the EA's "Where To Fish" booklets etc. As you will be aware, it's notoriously hard to keep fishery and venue data up to date. Many of these are small businesses that go in and out of business, change hands, close temporarily, get sold, become taken over by clubs or syndicates and so on.

For that reason the following text is included on the venue search results pop-up "Are you the owner of this fishing venue? Are these details up-to-date? Give us your feedback so we can update our records and give our users the most accurate information."

Speak soon,

Will
