I think it's time for my old jrc 32" specialist to get retired. However what would you recommend changing it for? I like the idea of a folding spoon net as spoons just seem huge. However are they strong and will they last the test of time?
 
I was recommended the Korum Folding Spoon Net but when I tried to get one everywhere was out of stock (beginning of season) so I went for the Gardner.

Seems pretty strong but does seem to catch the flow so don't know if the Greys would be better (follow link above).

Personally I would avoid any that have a cord across the front.
 
I do like the look of both the rovex and also the 28" greys. Was initially going to get the 30" folding korum but also see they do it in 26" would that be big enough? Am a bit worried about it in use though so might go for a solid frame one instead.
 
I have both gardner and korum latex and much prefer the latex korum.
My brother had a korum latex ( till mice chewed) bought a korum folding but regrets it n prefers the korum latex.

Just googled them look very nice. What size would you recommend the 24 or the 30? The 24 just seems a tad small but for say use it for small pike and from memory even a 10lb pike is a long fish.
 
I got the 30'' Ben, about £20 from Bankside, also got the Gardner reckon this is better, the mesh seems almost snag free, (for lures) its really light and looks brilliant on the end of the Drennan twist lock:)

Chis Jones also uses this one, and let's face what he doesn't know about kit is not worth knowing.:rolleyes:
 
I had the Gardner, but somehow contrived to leave it by the Severn near Welshpool at the end of last season - just in case anyone found it. :)

I replaced with the Greys 28", which is rounder (less oval) than the Gardner and IMO stronger. Also the mesh is deeper, not that that was a problem with the Gardner.

Both good nets but I prefer the Greys.

I've got the 24" for Tench and agree that it's small for Barbel especially if fishing alone. It's 24 from spreader to the net frame but narrower across ways...;) the 30 looks pretty big but would take the biggest of fish I'm sure...they could do with one in between!!!!....:D
 
I used to think this net was too deep for me as I like to unhook all fish in the water. To make things easier I pull the bottom edge up through the gap between the net and spreader and down the other side and then clip my forceps through the gathering T bar fashion. If I do catch a big one or need to rest a fish further I just pull out the net and a deep net is back in use. Big enough for any specimen Barbel.

Errrr, no I don't use one of those.:rolleyes::p
 
Didnt Korum release a 32" and 42" triangle net with rubberised mesh? A search on the net reveals that they discontinued it. I have the korum latex spoon which is great for small zeds and pike but want something a little larger to rest fish and the added advantage of the lack of mouldy net smell.

Any ideas why they discontinued it?
