NAsh Nomad New Design

Purchased one of the new Nash Nomad Roving Chairs - double the price of the original £80 now but AM gave it 29/30 in a review so why not?

Took it for a session on the WYe and the seat started to collapse within an hour of sitting on it.

The mesh of the seat started to pull away from the material - ok I am 6ft and 14 stone but i would say that is fairly average - after a few hours it was completely unusable - and i had 3 1/2 days left on the Wye (thankfully i chose pegs that were flat or with suitable rocks and still had 44 barbs in 4 days :D) and on my return home very unhappily I sent an email to Nash.

Absolutely delighted with the reply - no messing - apology issued - it seems it was a fault on some of the earlier ones and most/all (apart from mine had been recalled) - they arranged courier - collected - delivered a brand new one in which the material and quality of work seems first class - seemingly from the emails I was dealt with by Kevin Nash himself - and in this day and age I am delighted to report the customer service from Nash will not be beaten!

So for me if i ever have a decision to make over 2 products (one being a Nash one) then Nash get the vote. Not often nowadays that companies look after their customers without hassle but Nash have.

Vote for Kevin!! :)

Same thing happened to mine but it did last over a year. Since replaced it with a prestige lightweight recliner which is the same weight but the recliner mechanism makes it slightly more flexible when on steep banks.

Think i'll chance my arm and see if they will replace mine though if it's a known fault ;)

My Nash indulgence nomad ultra-lite chair came apart at the mesh on its second outing. I am no heavy weight at 11 stone.
I was not that impressed with it compared to my old Chub chair.

Guys

Nash told me they had a recall as the mesh was not strong enough (more to do with how it was stitched) - i sent them a photo of mine and straight away they told me it was one of the first models that had the fault and been recalled but obviously not all the shops returned them (don't know why).

If it was the same fault then I would be tempted to give it a go - the new one is stitched to a much better standard and i am hoping for a few days on the river with it over the next few years
