Nash Nomad 35l (Mk1 or Mk2)

Guys,
Im on the lookout for a small rucksack and have been reading that the Mk1 Nash Nomad is the one to use (if you can find one)
Does the Mk1 have the open pockets on the side to allow things to slip into or is that the later version?
There is one on ebay at the moment but I am unsure which version it is.
Thanks in advance,
Rob.

I have both - the mk1 has the open pockets and mk2 closed pockets. Ask the question - are the Nash accesory pouches included? - (two were included with the rucksack as standard) - as some for sale in the past (on ebay) have been missing. My Mk2 is new............
Both great rucksacks.

Cheers
Bob

Thanks Guys.
Bob, what do you think of the Mk2 compared to the earlier one, is there much difference?
I was thinking of a Tribal Xtreme 25l that I have seen for sale but if the Nash is better............
Thanks,
Rob.

nash now do a smaller backpack that is ideal for roving rob.around 25-30 quid if ya shop around. great bit of kit it is too. :)

Rob I have the mk1 ,I just like the easy load pouches on the sides, can't be doing with all the zips on the mk2, but it,s a personal thing. There both great rucksacks, and come with a showerproof skin if you get caught out in a downpoor. The thing I would say about the mk1, its probably not as comfy on the back due to less padding.Hope that helps.

Rob,
The Mk1 has open side pockets and I thought this was a disadvantage. But I agree with Steve's comments and prefer the Mk1 for most weather and it's layout.
I also have the one that Clive mentions and that's a good piece of kit for roving, but capacity at approx 25l is less.
Cheers
Bob

Go for the Drennan 'Super Specialist ' rucksack . Excellent build quality , tough materials , 2 sizes to choose from , and not full of zips which will always jam or break in the end . Trust me , I have tried a lot of rucksacks and the Drennan one ticks all the boxes and is cheap .
