Multiplier reel

Senior Member & Supporter
Quick question: A member has donated this Simano multiplier reel and an Okuma multiplier to our fishing club to raise funds (nice gesture). I put them on eBay but lots of "watchers" but no bids. Are these the type of reels that would sell on this site? They're in fair/good condition but have obviously been used! Thoughts please.

Old reels, Okuma Multis are nowhere near the quality of their freshwater fixed spools, made of monkey metal mostly. I have had some in for service and really they are poor . I would not want to put a value on it as who knows what it is like inside .

The Shimano ,if it has been serviced and looks OK may pull £30-£40 ,they are a solid piece of kit ,and I would have no problem in using it ( I have a shedload of Multis ) but as said they are old school and it would be a buyers market as there are a few around being shifted. Parts are availabe so that is a plus. Lever drags are the more popular Triton Multis TBH .

Good luck in moving them on.

Thanks David. It was nice of you to reply. As I say, the reels were donated by a club member, so I may bundle them up with some other items of fishing gear and put them into an auction. "Every bit helps" as a famous supermarket once stated!!!
