I've got a pair of Tay Sport Muck Boots.Ive had them a couple of years but I'm finding my socks are getting damp which is making my feet get cold.Has any one else found this and do any of you have a solution.
I've got a pair of Sealskin socks. Would these make it better or worse ??.

I use Bama Sokkets - try ebay - for years. The insides stay warm and dry passing all the sweat to the outsides
 
Stephen, Army issue Goretex socks will do the trick. I've a pair of sealskinz but found they weren't warm enough in very cold weather. Wearing a good quality thermal sock with the Goretex socks over them seems to work well, but you need room in your boots.
 
Top tip take two pairs of socks. Change when necessary. Believe it or not your feet sweat and your wellies are water proof muck boots do wick outwards but when saturated (humidity) your feet will feel damp. Change your socks and put the used ones into your layers to dry for the next change. Learnt from a Sgt Royal marine ML, a cracking bloke too.

Bama Sokkets go over a pair of thick socks - I use merino wool. Then you don't need to carry an extra pair of socks to change as all the moisture is wicked to the outside but you might need a bigger size of boot! Bama Sokkets are on ebay £8 post free.
