Spent two hours in Stapeley shop other month "playing" Twicher on various rods. I liked the Tench rod but setled for a Greys G-TEC power float rod. not used it for barbel but had cxxp to 12lb 6oz on it and it handled them well. Got shorter handle than tench rod that suits my short arms.
 
Carbonactive Float Rod

Interesting set of opinions on this thread. Just happens that I have a little-used Carbonactive Float rod (12ft 9'') in the garage doing nothing. Anyone interested in buying it for £80 (PM if interested)? Rated for lines 3lb - 7lb. Comes with ready sleeve and tube. Am near B'ham but can post if needed

See, now there's another annoying thing. The Mk 4 sale on the above fleabay link still has over 6 days to run, and yet there are TEN bids already, as a result of which the price is already £56...(+£10 postage :eek:)

Either these guys are total planks, or they are friends of the seller, because surely everyone knows that the REAL bidding happens in the last seconds....all this pointless early bidding merely puts up the starting price for the serious buyers :rolleyes:....and a tenner postage:mad:

My search goes on :D
