Martin Bowler leaving Drennan

‘Nash’ have been one of the major players in the Carp/specialist scene for way more than 30 years.

They were responsible for ‘scope/Dwarf‘ rods etc.

I had Nash Carp rods over 30 years ago

Didn't Nash release a Dean Macey range of 'specialist' rods way back? Poorly received if I remember rightly.
They did. Never handled one but the generally feedback seems to be that they were below average.

On the other hand they did produce the 'Specialist' range of rods which were outstandingly good value for money. The 'Specialist Elite Barbel' rods are considered by many to the best pound for pound barbel rods ever made.

I think scope/dwarf rods are a huge success. I know a lot of carp anglers vouch for them. I also see people using them for barbel.
I like the concept, and it would be great if Nash will come up with a scope barbel rod.
I know korum does a 1.75lb opportunitist rod, but I don't like its carppy rod action.

I don't know much about Nash, but a brief search suggested it was basically a Carp fishing concern, so I assume by recruiting Martin they are hoping to get into the "specialist" market.
Might be interesting.
They bought out a range of tackle ten or so years ago called Nash Peg One.

I know they did these rods, but aren’t they tippy instead of through action?

I've no idea, I've never even laid eyes on them. Genuinely through action rods of any description are increasingly thin on the ground though. Few seem to want such rods these days.

I think each company produces its fair share of both good and shite gear tbh.

I know Nash get a lot of stick, but I do have some Nash products which I rate, including the claw hooks, the dot spod and a 60L rucksack. My Titan is also still going strong.
I’ve got a set of Nash extreme pursuits very rare rods now and I must say they are excellent casting tools I brought my set a few years ago from a bloke on eBay he was in Essex. He had a few of these rods listed I picked mine up one evening and as i was leaving Jim Shelley was on his way to collect the other set from the bloke apparently Jim as got many sets of the Nash pursuits. some of the Nash gear i must admit is trash but there are many other items that in my opinion still are pretty good quality. at the moment the best item they sell is Nash claw hooks 😂 my father raves about these hooks once there in there staying 👍
